If I order a plane, how much will it cost?

The price of a custom model aircraft starts from US$750. It depends on the kit, the detail sets, the time required to build it and the coloring scheme. To make it a truly unique collector's item, some clients would prefer to have custom made components and decals with special camouflage. Those, of course, would cost more. Whenever we custom build a custom aircraft model, we try to make it historically as accurate as possible. This requires consulting with our clients, aviation historians and our scale model makers to come up with a specification for building the model aircraft that is feasible and historically accurate. For us, high quality scale model building is a combined exercise in art and history. Often, this requires photos of the original aircraft, and constructing our own custom parts and scale model decals. If you wish to inquire about building a custom aircraft model, please use our order form to make your request.

Do I have to buy your custom aircraft models through eBay?

Occasionally, we sell our aircraft replicas on our eBay store. Please check our eBay store page (eBay user id: DFWings) for our current eBay store listing. For those who would like to order a custom aircraft model from us, please use our order form to submit your inquiry. We require 50% of the agreed payment upfront and the remaining balance will be due shortly before the delivery of the completed model. While the build is in progress, we provide photos to our clients during key project checkpoints or when we need specific instructions or guidance from our client. We will ship the airplane model only after you have reviewed photos of the finished model and is satisfied with the result.

How long does it take to build a custom aircraft model?

The custom aircraft model delivery times depends on the availability of our builders. If they are not busy, the average build time is approximately 3 to 4 months. This begins after all the necessary information and components have been collected. Of course the size and particular type of plane and plastic kit will influence the building time. Generally, the larger kits (i.e. 1:32, 1:24 scale) take longer to build.

Who builds your custom aircraft models?

Our custom aircraft models are built by our very experienced team of scale model builders. Please look at our custom built models in the custom aircraft model photo gallery; you can decide for yourself the quality of the products we build.

Who wrote your articles?

Our builders and military aviation historians write most of our articles.

My father was a WW2 fighter pilot. Can you build my father's plane? I would like to submit a short article on his accomplishments during the war. Could you post the article and his picture on your pilot page as well?

Yes, we will be glad to acknowledge your father's wartime contributions.

Where does the name DogFighters come from?

One of the definitions of dogfight is an aerial battle between fighter planes. A dogfighter is a military aircraft that participates in such an aerial combat.

Is your dogfighter of the month, Messerschmitt for sale?

Occasionally our Dogfighter of The Month is available for sale. Most likely, it is a Messerschmitt or Spitfire for sale. Please contact us for pricing information.
